Strait of Hormuz
As I walk through this wicked world
Looking for light in the darkness of insanity
I ask myself is all hope lost?
Is there only pain, hatred, and misery?
As I walk on through troubled times
My spirit gets so downhearted sometimes
Where are the strong? Who are the trusted?
And where is the harmony?
Each time I feel it slipping away just makes me want to cry
What's so funny about Peace, Love, and Understanding?
What hope pop lyrics against Revelation?
The dragons and multi-headed beasts literally divined to help assuage the existential dread of many American christians.
Or for that matter, what worth against the dry drunks and the hollow men and women of death's land, screeching from oceans of screens for blood and destruction?
Who really is to blame that this PT Barnum flimflam man was given a torch that could light the world on fire?
We the people, citizens, all, allowed the creation of this beastly office, for decades refusing to hold its various occupants accountable for usurping democratic power and assorted crimes.
Our wanna-be princeps' holds in his hands the torch of military technologies we willfully spent trillions upon trillions to create and produce.
We've long been assured there is always an enemy.
The enemy is us.
Before Nazis and WWII, at age 23, German physicist Werner Heisenberg developed the math and concepts of quantum mechanics.
We live in the Quantum Age.
After Nazis and WWII, Heisenberg wrote,
"The phrase: 'Modern man confronts himself alone' is assuming an ever greater validity in this age of technology. In previous times man felt that he confronted nature alone. Nature populated by creatures of all kinds was a domain existing according to its own laws, to which he had somehow to adapt himself. In our age, however, we live in a world which man has changed so completely that in every sphere―whether we deal with the tools of daily life, whether we eat food which has been prepared by machines, or whether we travel in a countryside radically changed by man―we are always meeting man-made creations, so that in a sense we meet only ourselves."
"Anyone who speaks in favor of peace without stating precisely the conditions of this peace must at once be suspected of speaking only about that kind of peace in which he and his group thrive best ― which of course would be completely worthless. Any honest declaration for peace must be an enumeration of the sacrifices one is prepared to make for its preservation."
So, nothing at all funny about peace, love, and understanding.
