Supremes

I wrote a little while ago we live in hyper-, extra-, and post-constitutional times – comes today's Supreme Court ruling. I didn't realize, showing the little attention I pay to this all, that a Colorado state judge had convicted Trump of insurgency back in November – Lord. When this went before Supremes, I couldn't figure out, after all the Congressional Dems had impeached, but the Senate failed by a number of votes to convict “with the Concurrence of two thirds of the Members present.”

Anyway whatever the merits/demerits of Supremes decision, they’re once again in the middle of an election, last time most unconstitutionally giving us W. It reminds me I'd say to the Nigerians, “You don't want the courts in the middle of elections” – just another American hypocrite.

At the same time, you think the Supremes will find the idea Trump has any sort of presidential immunity has no standing. Phew, makes you remember a couple decades ago when we all thought lawyers were the real shits, but then the bankers once again reared their ugly heads — nolo contendere.

The ruling does knock a leg out the stool of the President’s re-election strategy. Gaza’s wobbling a second. Recently, I've been hearing a lot more he’s too old. The NYT even had a poll this weekend saying it was a feeling shared by the majority of Dems. Well, only 8 more months to election day.

I said, don’t call me sir

just call me Joe*

*This Leslie Winer pours most excellent sounds from her guitar (27:00). Even Mother Sinead calls her out. Just another of the many reasons we love, respect, and honor Mother Sinead. I saw Howard Devoto, yes that Howard Devoto, at this Paradise venue some years before. He had a great band, sans McGeoch unfortunately. Still etched in my head is last song, more relevant than ever, “Because You’re Frightened,” with Devoto bouncing from one end of the stage to the next. Heard lot of great, cheap music in small clubs in Boston, a long time ago, in a galaxy far, far, away.
